HUNGER

Critics have described it as 'Breathtakingly Beautiful' [TimeOut, New York] and 'The Most Shocking and Important Films of the Year' [esquire]. Steve McQueen, a former winner of the Turner Prize recieved the Caméra d'Or (first-time director) Award at Cannes for this piece of cinematic masterpiece.

I saw this film, quite honestly knowing very little of the plot or about the IRA conflicts. Filmography throughout was unlike anything I'd seen before, both painful and beautiful to watch. Such raw emotion, stark senses... in one scene, McQueen introduces the viewer to a non-conformist's cell- exploring the walls, all smeared with faeces. The room itself appeared murky and miserable, it was hard to believe I was looking at a prison cell. The two inmates were forced upon such inhumane measures, one wouldn't even wish a stray dog to be forced upon such harsh conditions.

Mirrors

A video response to the poem titled Mirrors. The photo mirrors sound of a journey of mine.

When you stand between mirrors,
The slab of your face
Shoots backwards and forwards
For ever and ever
With tiny delays
So if you could only
Keep everything still
And look to the end
Of the sad succession
Time would run out
And you'd see yourself dead.

C'est Fragile!

PERCEPCIÓN oculta

how the world looks through the eyes of an artist...

this was a little social experiment. to create your own little adventure, all you need is an OHP lens, a studio or two and plenty of willing (and childish) volunteers. it helps if they're artist's- this adds a wonderful touch of crazy.

twenty-series

media: water-colour, oilbar, wax

these were produced as a 'test' sequence for an art exam.
15 hours is how long it took! the exam, I refer to.

The Good

I know he's not dead (yet), a very humble person, Clint comes across as a somewhat underrated actor. As a man with 4 Oscars to his name, another 98 wins & 55 nominations, it is clear that his talent speaks for itself. Clint Eastwood is one of the rare few actors who doesn't say more than needs be said, but still manages to put across a "don't F**K with me" sort of attitude. Without Clint, there simply wouldn't be any GOOD Westerns about. I'll admit it, I am slightly obsessed with this 'Man With No Name'. His cigars, his long legs, his amazing hair, his good heart and his effortless cool. This dandy gunslinger, in my humble opinion has taken Westerns to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL. Here's a taster of one of his finest performances:
